Here is an idea that I have found to be extremely useful over the years. I keep a small note book in my shed and in it I record details of any new project that I make. I record material used, type, dimensions etc and lastly any recommendations for next time. i.e. make it longer/shorter/wider.

If I'm likely to make a series of the item in the future I will type it up in word ind insert a photo and then file it in a arch leaver file. You would be surprised how often that someone asks me for an item that I made for them "some years ago" and they want one just like it???
